About Us
Meals on Wheels Cumbria is a not-for-profit enterprise set up to provide a meals service to those who struggle to cook for themselves. Presently we deliver to Carlisle, Penrith, Wigton, Brampton and Longtown and rural areas in between.
Our service began in 2014 and was called ‘Fair Meals Direct’ at first. Some of our volunteers have served for many years from the time when Cumbria County Council provided the service.
Every weekday our cooks prepare fresh meals which are taken out hot to our customers by our delivery volunteers.
Our customers are really important to us, we try to provide the best meals service we can. We know that when old age or illness makes cooking difficult it’s not an easy time.
